In order for users to understand how fresh their blacklist data is, we should be able to tell them when those lists were last updated. This will require an API change and a change to the blocked site UI (bug 399233).
Dave, how hard's the back end? Front end obviously should be lightweight.

Hmm, this sounds like it might be a useful thing for Firefox Health Report to watch over. If the SafeBrowsing DB is having a problem updating, that's probably bad news for the user.

Possibly. You can always file a new bug and see what happens! Put [fhr] in the whiteboard if it isn't in a FHR component.

Mass-removing myself from cc; search for 12b9dfe4-ece3-40dc-8d23-60e179f64ac1 or any reasonable part thereof, to mass-delete these notifications (and sorry!)

This bug should probably just be closed as WONTFIX.
The answer to "when was this list last updated" is going to be "in the last 30 minutes" in almost all cases. It's not likely to be a useful data point for end-users.
