I love the urlbar autocomplete, but it would be cool to be able to mark a live bookmark for inclusion into that autocomplete stream. I have a group linkblog from an IRC channel I hang out in, and I'd like to have the RSS feed integrated into my dropdown autocomplete so that I can easily find stuff that was posted. This would sort of extend the Places model from my bookmarks+history to include group bookmarks as well. FWIW, I'd be happy enough if we had hooks to enable this in an extension.
You could write an extension that uses a bookmark observer to 1) add a bookmark to Unsorted Bookmarks folder for each new bookmark added that is a livemark child and then 2) for each bookmark deleted that is a livemark child, remove it from the Unsorted Bookmarks folder. This would effectively make all livemark items visible in the location bar. You could even tag them with a specific identifier, and then use the tag search operator (+) to search only those items. Haven't had any demand for showing livemark entries in the location bar, except this bug, so not going to add this feature to core.

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h". In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows: Tools | Message Filters Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New" Conditions: Body contains places-to-b-and-h Change the action to "Delete Message". Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top. Click OK. Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter. Gerv
