User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en; rv:1.8.1.4) Gecko/20070509 Camino/1.5 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en; rv:1.8.1.4) Gecko/20070509 Camino/1.5 www.loopnet.com doesn't work properly with Camino 1.5. The main page gives this header: "You are currently using Internet Explorer for MacOS. For the best experience using the LoopNet web site, we recommend that you use either the latest version of Apple Safari or Mozilla Firefox." But in the search results, a dialog is displayed advertising a premium member offer. With Camino, this dialog cannot be dismissed. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open the given URL ( http://www.loopnet.com/xNet/MainSite/Listing/Search/ForSale.aspx?linkcode=330 ). 2. Select a property type ( like "Multifamily" ) 3. Click the "Search" button. In the resulting page, a dialog appears asking if you're a "Premium Member" and allowing you to purchase or close. Attempt to close the dialog. Actual Results: The dialog does nothing. Expected Results: The dialog should disappear. I was asked to report this (from the Camino forum) so that you, too, could contact the site developer to help convince them that "browser sniffing" is bad.
Confirming; this is broken in Minefield, too. The premium member "alert" div closes fine if you spoof *as* Firefox exactly (but this is actually a case where the mere presence of Firefox in the UA string is not enough). (The warning on http://www.loopnet.com about being Mac IE *is* controlled by the mere presence of "Firefox" somewhere in the UA string, though. How odd.) Also, Carl, Camino 1.5 is several revisions behind. The latest is Camino 1.5.2, and 1.5.3 is expected this week.)

Summary: loopnet.com's premium member dialog can't be dismissed (browser sniffing) → loopnet.com - premium member "alert" div can't be dismissed by non-Firefox Gecko browsers
* Seamonkey still gets a warning above page contents * I can not reproduce "can't close overlay 'popup'" problem with any UA - seems fixed. Lowering pri as the functionalit problem is gone and the only remaining issue is a dismissable warning.
Severity: normal → minor
I do not see any popup for Camino nor warning for SeaMonkey
