Using two colors it would be very effective to give feedback on searched criteria. For example if the search box turns red it means the word was not found. Since this was originally filed against SeaMonkey, I'm not sure if this is referring to find-in-page or web search. If it's web search, I don't think we want to resolve search queries in addition to suggestions and the search engines often provide helpful things like spelling corrections/homonyms/etc after executing a search. I believe discouraging users from reaching that step is not something we want to do.
