can't enter password for http authentication

sorry, no URL prodived, only place I could find that uses http auth instead of
some fancy cgi deal was our intranet.
i think this is linux only. I can type in the "User Name" field, but not in the
"Password" field. it will take focus, just wont accept keys. I think this is
regression, though it hasen't worked for the last few days.
