first time I run firefox 3, if I have a default mailer (that worked for mailto in firefox 2), can we avoid the prompt?

first time I run firefox 3, if I have a default mailer (that worked for mailto: in firefox 2), can we avoid the prompt?
maybe what I'm asking for is some first run code, that can detect my current settings and (for standard things like mailto:), make fx 3 behave like fx 2?
I'm not sure if any other protocols / file types deserve special handing (but I'm guess http, https, and ftp from thunderbird 3.)
let me attach a screen shot of the dialog that I'd like to prevent our fx2 -> fx3 users from seeing.
