Steps to reproduce:
- Click favicon/larry button (by habit; to select the field)
- Click URL field
- See no selection, only a cursor
- Click twice; it selects only ://
- Click three times (not too soon after the :// selection): it finally selects the whole field
Expected behaviour: selection of the URL field

Why did you mark this as a dupe of bug 403508?

Is it not a dupe? Looks like the same problem to me.

This is a likely panel bug (and could be invalid). The click that dismisses the panel doesn't reach the input field.

Oh, I see. That's in fact intentional, because the alternative is that it becomes impossible to dismiss Larry by clicking on him again. See bug 395314. I suppose we could work around this by switching the events used to open larry, or something like that, but I'm not sure it's worth the trouble.

I don't get why you would click twice after clicking the URL field, you only need to click once after Larry has closed and the whole URL field is selected as normal. (Maybe the behavior has changed since this bug was filed?)

Is only temporary WFM, caused by another bug, Bug 416937.
