The check-in for bug 387746 alters the places.sqlite database so it is no longer compatible with the upcoming Beta 1 milestone. I expect this will cause much user confusion. Was this intentional? Among the issue I see, it i try to use a current trunk profile with the beta 1 rc3 build, the bookmarks toolbar is empty. Even worse, if I try to add entries to the toolbar, they don;t appear either. This would tend to make me think the beta build did not work, if I did not know better.
I thought Firefox had eaten my bookmarks.
Well, bug 387746 moved the bookmarks toolbar folder, there's no way to do that and keep Fx3-(pre)b2->b1 downgrade working
That said, we might be able to make it half-work in beta 1: the newly-marked toolbar-folder contents would be shown on the bookmarks toolbar, but not in the bookmarks menu/sidebar/organizer.
fixing this does not make much sense now that we are at 3.1b3

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h". In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows: Tools | Message Filters Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New" Conditions: Body contains places-to-b-and-h Change the action to "Delete Message". Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top. Click OK. Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter. Gerv
