User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9b1) Gecko/2007110903 Firefox/3.0b1
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9b1) Gecko/2007110903 Firefox/3.0b1
Somehow, the installation of adblock plus or the removal of the navigation and bookmark toolbars has disabled the regular bookmark window that pops up when right clicking the mouse -> bookmark this link. The new window has no cancel button or a close window icon. Now a toolbar like bookmark window pops down from the top left with only the close and done buttons. Clicking "close" still adds a bookmark and hitting 'esc' key doesn't close the window either. One has to then go to bookmarks -> organize bookmarks to delete the bookmark.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Remove the navigation toolbar
2. Remove the bookmark toolbar
3. Install adblock plus, restart firefox
4. Right click a link -> bookmark this link, strange window without cancel button pops down from the top left.
5. Disable adblock plus, restart, still same behavior
Actual Results:
Strange bookmark window with close and done buttons pops down from top left.
Expected Results:
Regular bookmark window with cancel button should show up.

6. Re-enable the navigation and bookmark toolbars, restart, still same weird window shows up
7. Completely uninstall adblock plus, restart, still same weird window shows up
8. Restart with firefox -safe-mode, still same result!
Here's a screenshot of the strange bookmark window:

As you can see the two buttons are "delete" (not "close", but clicking delete doesn't close the window) and "done".

What does whiteboard [DUPEME] mean? is this a dupe of another bugzilla post?

This isn't a bug. The new add bookmark dialog does not have a cancel button. As soon as you invoke it, the bookmark is added. You can either complete the addition (by choosing "done") or delete the bookmark you just made (with the "delete" button).

I can no longer re-create this bug. I would click delete when I initially created this bug and the bookmark window would not disappear. The bookmark remained until I deleted it through the organize bookmarks dialog. You sure you don't have some super secret backdoor that updates the new firefox on the fly?

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h".
In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows:
Tools | Message Filters
Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New"
Conditions: Body contains places-to-b-and-h
Change the action to "Delete Message".
Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top.
Click OK.
Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter.
