Details

User-Agent: Opera/9.20 (X11; Linux i686; U; en) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9b1) Gecko/2007110903 Firefox/3.0b1 I have installed FF3 Beta1 under Ubuntu Gutsy on both my laptop and my desktop. At school today (laptop), I was reading Digg.com (with a few tabs), and suddenly the CPU usage shot to 100% and my RAM was completely consumed. Firefox kept allocating more RAM, causing the computer to become so busy swapping that mouse movements barely registered. I am on my PC now, and I can confirm the same behavior. In fact, I don't even need to do anything. Just opening FF3 Beta1 to the default "Mozilla Firefox Start Page" is enough. ========== Upon further investigation, disabling all add-ons has resolved the issues. I have re-enables them one at a time, but suddenly I can't seem to reproduce the bug anymore. It used to happen every time. I am submitting this anyways, as there is clearly an issue somewhere. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open FF3 Beta1 2.Wait (2 minutes at most) Actual Results: CPU usage jumped to 100% and RAM usage started climbing (I use the gnome panel applet that graphs RAM usage - very steep climb right to the top, then the hard drive starts thrashing). Expected Results: Not this :) The only enabled extensions I have are Adblock Plus 0.7.5.3 and DOM Inspector 1.9b1. I also have Flash 9 r48 installed (I let FF3 download it itself). I am using the default theme.
