1. New profile, start firefox
2. Highlight text on starting screen
3. Drag

It looks quite poor on windows 2000 for me. I'm told it doesn't look like this on XP or Vista, although I can't test for sure.

Looks good on Windows XP but a screenshot shows nothing.
Hey Steve - what sp version / ie version are you running with?
I was using Win2kSP4 and IE 6. (IE7 doesn't run on win2k!)
Odd I have a vmware image with the same config and beta 3 and can't even get the drag and drop feedback.

may become moot with FF 3.5 not supporting w2k. still fails as described for 3.6 nightly.

Jim had written in Bug 406084 "On minimum requirements - in order for this to work, the os needs shell32.dll version 5.0 and higher. That will be available on 2K and up with IE5 installed."
3.5 will support win2k right? I thought it was 3.6 and beyond that may have a minimum requirement of WinXPsp2..

Yes, that's why I took myself off the bug.

This must be tied to upgrades because I was unable to reproduce on a VMWare 2K image (unsure of the sp version but I can check when I get back). There were no drawing anomalies, the drag image just didn't show up.

Yep, this is correct - 3.5 does support 2k. 3.6 will not officially and we may actually remove code that is pre-xpxp2 specific to clean up the source base.

yup. my bad. per discussion of gecko 1.9.2 in m.d.planning
Windows 2000 is not supported any longer.
So this bug is WONTFIX?
