Sam and I both independently reached the conclusion that it would be good to have a box running unit tests for us. This would be useful for: 1) Catching Core changes that break embedding APIs or leave them in a crashy state (bug 404290, and perhaps potentially issues like bug 401328, bug 403090) 2) Testing our own code; part of Peter's SoC proposal was to create some sort of AS-based test suite for exercising parts of our code (and I believe he said at one point now 100% of our bookmarks UI functionality can be exercised by AppleScript), and there are probably other ways we can test our functionality, too.
This bug has been buried in the graveyard and has not been updated in over 5 years. It is probably safe to assume that it will never be fixed, so resolving as WONTFIX. [Mass-change filter: graveyard-wontfix-2014-09-24]
