User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-GB; rv:1.8.1.11) Gecko/20071204 Ubuntu/7.10 (gutsy) Firefox/2.0.0.11 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-GB; rv:1.8.1.11) Gecko/20071204 Ubuntu/7.10 (gutsy) Firefox/2.0.0.11 Hello I have noticed a subtle behaviour. In bookmarks, Favicons can bleed from one link to another. The best way to explain this is to show some screenshots: Windows: http://commandline.org.uk/images/posts/favicon/windows.png On that screenshot, you will see the bookmark called Zeth.net has somehow acquired Groklaw's favicon Linux: http://commandline.org.uk/images/posts/favicon/linux.png On that screenshot, you will see that the W3C link has somehow acquired Python's favicon. Both Operating Systems had 2.0.0.11. Reproducible: Couldn't Reproduce Steps to Reproduce: 1. No idea how to even start to reproduce this without clearing out my bookmarks and starting again. 2. 3.
Please see if you can also reproduce this with the latest trunk build, for only security bugs and crashes will be fixed in Firefox 2.x. Trunk nightly builds are the test builds for Firefox 3, and in those builds I don't see the problem you're talking about. Trunk builds can be downloaded here: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-trunk/
I noticed this happen several times, but it appears to have been fixed in Firefox 3. If I recall correctly, it would only "bleed" to a bookmark that was visited directly afterward.
I've seen this happen on Firefox 3 Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-AU; rv:1.9.0.3) Gecko/2008092417 Firefox/3.0.3 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)
could be dupe of bug 411966
