User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9b1) Gecko/2007110904 Firefox/3.0b1
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9b1) Gecko/2007110904 Firefox/3.0b1
This is probably similar in terms of original fault to my last post. In that case, I apologise.
Imagine you have this in your bookmarks menu:
- Folder 1
- Folder 2
- Folder 3
- A Bookmark
It is impossible to move (by dragging and dropping) the bookmark from where it is now into Folder 2 or 3; though it is possible to move it up into root and 4. No drag/drop indicator shows, and it does nothing.
No theme.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Recreate aforementioned Bookmark infrastructure.
2. Open the "Bookmarks" menu
3. Try and drag the bookmark into the sub-subdirectory
Actual Results:
Nothing happens when you rollover folders 2 and 3 whilst dragging the bookmark
Expected Results:
Some kind of indicator is shown (eg text goes white). Folder may expand (see my other bug). When released, the bookmark falls into folder 2 or 3.

Surely this should be marked as a duplicate of the one that my other post is a duplicate of, not my other bug as it is currently being resolved is. I will reopen it I think so it can get properly confirmed.

I can move the bookmark but it is difficult to drop it onto the right spot (if this is what you mean). This is bug 405087.
I can't move it at all. If I could, I would have said. I can't. It's not like from the main directory into a sub-directory which is just difficult - this is impossible, for me at least.

WFM; I see the cursor change when dragging up or down. Did you also test this with a new profile?
Component: Bookmarks → Places
QA Contact: bookmarks → places
Version: unspecified → Trunk
The cursor changes; I get no indicator at ALL where I am dropping it and regardless of where I do (I have tried about 50 times with different folders, I cannot get it to do anything.

you have not indicator of where are dropping because of Bug 405087, the drop point is wrong... moving the item on a populated menu should allow you to see some item to vanish out, but not under the cursor, in another point (about 4 or 5 rows below). do you see any vanishing rows while dragging up and down the main bookmark menu?
Sorry, I mean I don't see any on any sub-directory; everything works fine on the main menu (excluding the whole drop area thing).

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h".
In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows:
Tools | Message Filters
Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New"
Conditions: Body contains places-to-b-and-h
Change the action to "Delete Message".
Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top.
Click OK.
Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter.
