Loading the page http://www.fly.faa.gov/flyfaa/usmap.jsp hangs my X server for 5-20 seconds at a time -- it seems like each repaint of the page causes the hang to repeat. Steps to reproduce: load http://www.fly.faa.gov/flyfaa/usmap.jsp and scroll around Actual results: X server hangs for a period of time -- to the point where Caps Lock doesn't work for 15 seconds, the multiload-applet-2 system monitors on my toolbar don't update, etc. And then the system comes back (particularly if that window is no longer visible). I'm running Fedora 7 with the fglrx X driver from Livna, but without the kernel module: xorg-x11-server-Xorg-1.3.0.0-9.fc7 xorg-x11-drv-fglrx-8.42.3-6.lvn7
Flags: blocking1.9?
Observed in Linux nightly 2007-12-16-04-trunk (and also a debug build from a few days ago with local changes).
Bug was not present in Firefox 2.0.0.11.

For me, this regressed between 2006-10-25-08-trunk and 2006-10-26-09-trunk, which corresponded to enabling cairo (based on about:buildconfig) ...actually

Er, actually, those dates are when cairo was enabled for Firefox nightlies (per about:buildconfig although nothing I could find in CVS).
