Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/523.12.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.0.4 Safari/523.12.2 Build Identifier: Version 2007112812 (1.5.4) Some users prefer not to see the so-called "status bar" (the one at the bottom of the browser window). It is especially visually distracting and simply meaningless during the loading of the page: the URLs of the page elements being loaded are changing so quickly that it is impossible to read them. If nobody can read it, why show it? Still, it may be useful as a debug tool: one can see URLs of page elements that are “choking” the loading of the page. Plus, there is another major use of the status bar: seeing the URL of the hover link. Summing things up, there are enough pros and cons to at least add a “Show Status Bar / Hide Status Bar” entry to the View menu. Reproducible: Always
