User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.11) Gecko/20071127 Firefox/2.0.0.11 Build Identifier: 20071031 Description ~~~~~~~~~~~ After importing mail from Outlook Express (6.00.2900.2180 (xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158) to Thunderbird, the Thunderbird mail folders show a set of "Search Folders" that are numbered (e.g., "Search Folder (7)") that were not present in Outlook Express. Reproduction ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Start with an Outlook Express install that has a hierarchy of mail folders. Install Thunderbird and request import of Outlook Express mail. Result ~~~~~~ "Search Folders" appear out of nowhere. Expected ~~~~~~~~ High fidelity migration of Outlook Express to Thunderbird mail folders. Notes ~~~~~ No other migration problems were identified. The Outlook Express install in question did not have any saved searches or message rules that might conceivable generate Thunderbird search folders. Tried to repro the above on a production machine, but was blocked by Outlook Express's insistence on downloading mail (creating a mess, as migration to Thunderbird had already occurred) and the nightly Thunderbird build's insistence on installing itself over the existing Thunderbird installation (seemed like a bad idea). Sorry about that. Fixed by deleting the "Search Folders". Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Moving bugs from TB: Migration to MailNews Core: Import, as the code for Outlook, OE, and Eudora migration is almost entirely shared within the core import code.
