STR:
1. Install the Real Player plugin from the real.com site.
2. Observe the progress meter moves and gives the impression the plugin in is being installed successfully.
3. The meter finishes, and there is a failure and asks you to manually install.
This is a pretty bad user experience. If it fails it should just fail right away and not give the user the impression that it is progressing along smoothly by showing a progress meter (to me it looked as if it is was being installed).

The reason we do this is because we have to go to the server, and don't want to look "frozen" in case it takes a while.
We could better the text we show while we do that.

Disregard my comment, I was missing the fact that we listed the plugin as available.
This works fine in Firefox 2 but not Firefox 3 - looks like xpi-wrapping of .exe files is broken in FF3

IIRC there's already a bug on having plugin implementors change the packaging of their plugins.

This is a mass change. Every comment has "assigned-to-new" in it.
I didn't look through the bugs, so I'm sorry if I change a bug which shouldn't be changed. But I guess these bugs are just bugs that were once assigned and people forgot to change the Status back when unassigning.

I don't think this old bug is valid or relevant any more. Also, RealPlayer is being removed from PFS.
