Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.11) Gecko/20071127 Firefox/2.0.0.11 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.11) Gecko/20071127 Firefox/2.0.0.11 Firefox will occasionally crash on closing, causing an automatic system reboot; or else a system hang and manual reboot. When system and Firefox is restarted, there are no bookmarks and Firefox acts like a fresh install. There is no system message or trace file created during the crash to my knowledge. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Cannot be reproduced at will 2. 3. Actual Results: N/A Expected Results: N/A I see no option to export bookmarks for safekeeping. Does one simply copy the folder somewhere? The import function is only for IE bookmarks. How can I safeguard my bookmarks and startup tab configuration?
Well, there are bookmark backups stored in your profile: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Lost_bookmarks It is always wise to backup all valuable data including bookmarks by making a simple copy of the profile folder Mozilla: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_Folder The links are timing out at the moment. And you can export only bookmarks in Bookmarks -> Organize Bookmarks -> File -> Export.
duping to bug 193749 IF you have questions ask on irc or http://support.mozilla.com If you want to report a bug (and no support question) then please search before you file a bug. The whole bookmark backend will be changed in Firefox3.0 to a sqlite database, that means that this is already fixed.
