412382 - Firefox hangs when quitting browser or applying update

Seen on both Intel and PPC mac running Leopard today,  Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9b3pre) Gecko/2008011404 Minefield/3.0b3pre.

STR:
1. With about 10 tabs open, I was operating outside of the browser. Suddenly FF becomes unresponsive and I have to force quit. Gmail was among the tabs that were open, as was the sprint.com page (testing Bug 407045)

My Intel machine exhibited this behavior after running all weekend with Minefield open and then trying to restart it.

I have added the Apple report that came up after I forced Minefield to quit.

I could not save the whole report since the attachment was too allegedly too big to attach to this bug. I have the whole report available if necessary.

Changing description. I now see this nearly every day when I close down the browser, update, or quit.  This has been seen using the Firefox 2.0.0.12 candidate as well. My machine is a mac mini 1.66 Ghz Intel Core Duo with 512 MB RAM. My recollection when I was using my MBP was that I did not see this regularly.

I wonder whether this is related to bug 404531. Marcia, have you seen this again recently?

Marcia, I hardly believe you see bug 474699 here too. If it happens again check the cpu load. It doesn't matter if you close the browser on your own or in favor to install an application update.
