User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8.1.11) Gecko/20071127 Firefox/2.0.0.11
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8.1.11) Gecko/20071127 Firefox/2.0.0.11

After Firefox launch, printing works normally. Print Dialog Box of OS-X shows Firefox options. Sometime later, Firefox options disappear from the Print Dialog Box and Firefox is no longer shown in the drop-down menu in that dialog box. Restarting Firefox temporarily restores Firefox to the drop-down menu. Am using a Xerox Phaser 8560DN printer and it's OS-X PDD file. The printer is installed as a Bonjour device. I have not *noticed* a similar problem in any other application but Firefox. I have not *noticed* a similar problem with any other printer.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch Firefox
2. Do routine use of my Mac, and then, for some not-yet-determined reason
3. Notice that Firefox options are gone from the Print Dialog Box.

1. My G5 Mac is running all of Apple's latest-and-greatest and is a reasonably clean system.

2. I have a snapshot of the Print Dialog Box that I can send if you like. Just let me know.

Am willing to work with whomever to stomp this bug...

This bug almost got me crazy... First of all it took me a while to understand that there was no headers/footers tab in Page Setup on Mac OS X (even if all user's guides point there... maybe there should be one after all), then I couldn't find the "Firefox" (or "Bon Echo" in my case) dropdown entry in the Print dialogue. After I found this bug report, I restarted Firefox and the dropdown entry magically appeared... so I confirm the bug.

I am Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/0000000000 Firefox/2.0.0.3, it's the G4-optimized build (Bon Echo).

There is also a thread on the Apple Website discussing this issue:

Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.0.1) Gecko/2008070206 Firefox/3.0.1

FF ver 3.0.1 with MAC os X 10.5.4 - I can't duplicate this issue with either a shared Epson or direct USB Lexmark printer attached. May be only certain versions?

I'm hoping to resurrect this bug thread from the dead as it seems no
attention has been paid to it since the last post over 7 months ago.

This bug has been around since at least firefox 2.x, and has been in
every version of firefox that I have used on my Mac since.

I have observed that it often occurs in two situations:

1. After I have firefox running for a few days.
2. After I have printed a few times using 'Print Selection Only'.

As stated above, the only solution for recovering the firefox menu
selection is to restart the program.

After restarting Firefox, 'Firefox' menu re-appears.
