I enabled charting: ran collectstats and then setup the cron job to run collectstats at 1:15 am. A chart showed only one day, so I ran collectstats-regenerate and then old chart showed a time series. I subsequently noticed that the stats had not been updated, well at least from the data the chart displayed. A new chart only showed one day, the day setup the collectstats. Not sure why this is because I can see from the log it ran each day. So I ran collectstats again manually. A new chart then had two days the day I install and now. I then ran collectstats 2008-01-01, collectstats 2008-01-02 ... to the present day, Now all the new charts have flat lined.
Confused, the new chart function may be more powerful but the usability leaves a lot to be desired. Some decent documentation might help.

I see you are running Bugzilla 3.0. Are you using PostgreSQL as your DB server? Note that you maybe run collectstats.pl with the wrong permissions so that the stat files cannot be updated.
Version: unspecified → 3.0

No, using mysql
collectstats runs as root.
Forgot mention this is a solaris box, runing SunOS 5.10
Thanks

PS the log file from collectstats.pl 2>&1 > logfile is empty.

Question: Do I have to have already defined some chart data sets before running collectstats for the new chart function?

Is this still a problem with Bugzilla 3.6?

Bugzilla 3.0 is no longer supported, and I cannot reproduce the issue.
