Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9b3pre) Gecko/2008012204 Minefield/3.0b3pre ID:2008012204 Background: I had a really ancient version of Acrobat Reader that included the version number in the application name set as the handler for PDF files in my application preferences. When clicking PDF documents on websites, they would show up in the download manager, but Adobe Reader would never launch. I'd have to double-click the file in the download manager to make anything happen. There was no feedback at all to tell me the application I had set in the preferences didn't exist when it tried to invoke it. I changed the preference to point at the current version of Adobe Reader, and now clicking on PDFs downloads them and opens them in Adobe Reader like it's supposed to.
