User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8.1.11) Gecko/20071127 Firefox/2.0.0.11
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8.1.11) Gecko/20071127 Firefox/2.0.0.11

A gif animation sent via Apple mail to Gmail displays at the wrong speed when opened. After this was noted, I quit Firefox and opened iCab 4.0.1, opened the same mail and observed the animation running at the correct speed. This gif was adjusted in Graphic Converter to an even slower speed, and resent. Again, it was displayed improperly in Firefox, but right on the money in iCab. Firefox speeded the animation up by a factor of several times. Also, bringing the e-mail back into my Apple mail client from Gmail via IMAP and opening it, it displayed the proper speed.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Send the e-mail via Apple mail as gif signature attachment to web mail Gmail.
2.Open the Gmail transmission received via Firefox.
3.Observe the high speed action.
Actual Results:
Each time any sample of this gif was sent, it consistently ran with a much faster frame rate than it should have.

Expected Results:
Animation was expected to play at consistent, normal speeds as an endless loop. Normal in the sense that it appears at a normal frame rate in Apple Mail, iCab, or when I run it in my application program, Graphic Converter.

Since this was easy to reproduce and did it several times on testing, and it did NOT happen on iCab, I'm left to believe there may be a problem with the rendering in Firefox. This same problem displayed in Camino Version 2007112812 (1.5.4). The problem DID NOT happen in Opera Version 9.25 Build 3721, which; like iCab, also rendered the gif animation at the proper frame rate.
