Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. start firefox profile manager 2. create multiple profiles 3. attempt to open firefox from the start menu 4. attempt to open a locally stored web page or link result: won't start, 5. press start then run and type firefox.exe -no-remote result: firefox starts Actual Results: See above Expected Results: See above

I have similar kind of problems with Firefox long time. Some times when opening it using links from other programs or Start-menu too. It starts firefox "in background". There is no window available but I can find a program in task manager. After killing this program I can start firefox again. Sometimes I had to repeat this again.

Hi Robert I was using FF 2 in January but am using version 3 now. I haven't tried creating multiple profiles since the last attempt to use them. They were reproducible using the steps above everytime and no, the profile manager was not running - at least it was closed, perhaps it was resident in memory but I couldn't say for sure. I know I got exactly the same issue with any FF2 I tried on any OS (windows or Linux) Chris
Someone named Eino Makitalo replied to this fault log and the issue he is talking about doesn't seem related. In my case, firefox wouldn't start if you had more than one profile. Chris
Chris, can you reproduce using Steps to Reproduce: 1. start firefox profile manager 2. create multiple profiles 3. close profile manager 4. check that firefox is not in task manager 5. attempt to open firefox from the start menu 6. attempt to open a locally stored web page or link result: won't start and when you start, are you being prompted for profile?
