Works for me. (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv: Gecko/20080201 Firefox/

What extensions do you have? Some (like McAfee Site Adviser and others) override Firefox's popup blocking with their own which may not work as well.

Clear Private Data... (Add-Ons) 0.2.1
Realplayer Browser record Plugin 1.0
VideoDownloader 1.1.1
Firefox Default 2.0

Think these are related to my Axis 207W IP network camera ~ see http://www.axis.com/products/cam_207w/index.htm for product details. Certainly payback of MPEG files uploaded to my ISP requires Realplayer

Can you go to about:config in your Firefox address bar?

Type in dom.disable_open_during_load in the filter bar and make sure it's set to true.

The type of popups you're seeing, can they be dragged outside the window? If not, they're not really popups just floating bits of CSS and to get rid of them, you'll have to use a content blocker like the Ad Block Plus extension.

OK, more info
On www.Multimap.co.uk page, upper left is link "old site" - which has nicer maps!
This "old site" is where trouble seems to come from, if a postcode is entred and "find" button clicked.
Main window displays wanted map, bar above apprears and says "Firefox blocked a popup from Multimap" but extra windows keep turning up with financial products I don't want to hear about.
dom.disable_open_during_load = TRUE

Hope this helps!

Ok, I don't get a single pop-up even when I disable popup blocking on the old site and I tried searching in Great Britain as well as lots of other locations. I even made a fresh install. Can you do a search for spyware on your computer and make sure it's completely clean? I'm also going to direct you to Technical support because I can't reproduce it and it seems like something that may be localized to your computer.

Bugzilla is really not the best place to ask for technical support, it is a tracking system for actual bugs in various Mozilla products. If the problem only happens on your computer or with a particular website, you should look into technical support resources. A number of resources are available for Firefox at: http://support.mozilla.com/kb/ . In particular, you can get help with your question by searching the Knowledge base, or asking on our forums: http://support.mozilla.com/forum or using the newsgroup: mozilla.support.firefox or using the #firefox IRC chat room: irc://irc.mozilla.org/firefox

Since bugzilla is here to help developers improve the product, basic troubleshooting can be really helpful even if this really is a bug. The person working with you can help confirm the issue and help in writing a much more descriptive and helpful bug report so developers can more easily make the fix.
Reporter, are you still seeing this issue with Firefox 3.6.x or later in safe mode? If not, please close. These links can help you in your testing.
