For Firefox 3, we have removed two bundled search plugins from the Hebrew locale, which now leave us with Google, Yahoo, Wikipedia-he and Morfix (Dictionary).
nana (http://nana.co.il) - The site is using now Google search, and since Google is already bundled, the search is not necessary.
netex (http://netex.co.il) - The site is very similar to Google I'm feeling lucky, but is manually-approved and a bit more expensive.
Both will still be available from our website. I've updated the CVS directory to reflect the removals.

Mic, are these removals OK?

removals should be ok.
Tomer, I wasn't clear on what you meant by netex is a "bit more expensive" ?
Would you re-confirm the current list then: Google, Yahoo, Wikipedia-he and Morfix (Dictionary)
if so, we should try for a commerce engine if we can? is there on for Hebrew that makes sense?

Its natural of approving give more ranking to paying sites, instead of Google' that gives higher ranking for 'better' sites.

Confirming. That's the current engines listed in list.txt.

The best I can think about is zap.co.il, which is price comparison site. In fact we already have their approval, and have search engine ready at our local repository (http://mozilla.org.il/searchengines). I'm not sure if we really like to bundle them with the default installation, but I'll ask the others.

I would like to make few changes, but have no received yet any confirmations from local service providers or got them to sit and implement support in the server side for the mail handler (mail.walla.co.il).
For RSS I would like to add at least netvibes, since they have Hebrew user interface. Are we having a [global] confirmation from them, or I have to go and ask them myself?

we have a global confirmation from them, so you can go ahead and swap. i assume we swamp for bloglines?

tomer you should land a patch on netvibes.
for mailto walla, let's move that to a separate bug for web handlers to land after RC1
any news on zap.co.il - we need to close this bug out with resolutions
