Oops, hit enter too soon...

Steps to replicate:

1) create new profile, start minefield
2) create new tab, go to slashdot.org, star page, then add tag "news". repeat for digg.com, hugg.com, cnn.com.
3) close all but 1 tab
4) open bookmark sidebar, cmd-B
5) go to Bookmark Toolbar > Smart Bookmarks > Recent Tags > click on "news" tag name

Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9b4pre) Gecko/2008021304 Minefield/3.0b4pre

Just updated to OS X 10.5.2 this morning.
You actually only have to create a single tagged bookmark to do this, and it generates three asserts that (i think) are identical:

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h".

In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows:
Tools | Message Filters
Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New"
Conditions: Body contains places-to-b-and-h
Change the action to "Delete Message".
Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top.
Click OK.

Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter.
