The feedback text area should be hidden by default and not show up on page until a user actively clicks a link. See -> link in mockup below: ------------------------------------------------------------------- Article Feedback Did this article solve a problem you had with Firefox? [Yes] [No] Was this article easy to understand? [Yes] [No] -> Have other feedback about the article? Click here! ------------------------------------------------------------------- When clicking the link, the text area, info text (bug 413808) submit, captcha etc would show up.

Time to pick apart the wording I chose :)

Text looks good to me. :-)

I don't think we'll need the "Still need help?" line once we've implemented bug 413086, but it's definitely good to keep the line until we have that. About the wording, I would add "Click here!" to the text to make it even more obvious that they should do something to provide the feedback. <Have more feedback about this article? Click here!> or perhaps Have more feedback about this article? <Click here!> to make it more consistent with the line above.

This patch is ready to be committed. Just need a final word on the wording. Should it be the one in the screenshot or the one suggested in comment 5 (see attachment)?
There's not that much difference, they both do the job. Screenshot looks fine to me.
Sorry for jumping on this late, but I'm not sure either are really eye catching, or at least emphasizing the right things. "Still need help" should be more clear IMO than "ask a question" and "feedback" should be the focus rather than "click here." That is to say the eye catching things should be the things that help a user know which path they want to take. Besides that, if you look just at the bold text it says "Ask a support question. Click here!" We should probably change "Click here!" to something like "Leave a comment."
Nothing saying we can't change it further if we find the current version insufficient.
I agree with Jason. Hiding the text area is something I'd like implemented ASAP; and if there are any issues with the wording, we can take our time getting that perfect, separate from hiding the text box. Once this is implemented, lets file a separate bug on the wording.
(In reply to comment #10) > Once this is implemented, lets file a separate bug on the wording. How about "once this is implemented, and we see there's still a problem, lets file a separate bug on the wording".
Hehe. I just realized the separate bug about wording is bug 413808. :-)
Let's get this checked in to reduce the number of support "feedback" asap. We can probably improve the wording, so let's keep that in mind while evaluating the results of this.
checked in for support-stage
Looks good on stage. I just realized a minor problem where users may submit double feedback, so I've filed bug 424892.

v I'm just assuming this is verified, because I'm seeing this on the production site.
