When using a localized version of Fx, the "Firefox" panel in the print dialog should be localized

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use a localized version of Fx (like FR-fr)
2.menu : file/print
3.choose "firefox" panel in the third list box
Actual Results:  
controls and labels are in english

Expected Results:  
controls and labels in localized language

If you're allowed to use a flag, that drop-down will be enabled. You just nominated this to block Firefox 3. I'm now replying by saying that this issue won't nominate Firefox 3. Generally speaking, unconfirmed bugs won't block.

Further, looking at that print dialog, you seem to have some sort of system level print mechanism that isn't standard, so this might not be our issue.

I can confirm this, I have the same behaviour on my Mac. But I have this also with Thunderbird. The Print panel in Thunderbird / Firefox is not localized. This seems to be a general Thunderbird / Firefox bug, because its not localized in Thunderbird 3.0a2 and its also not localized in Thunderbird 2.0.0.16. Its also not localized in any Firefox version I have tested.
And this is not related to my printer driver, its a mozilla thing (I have this panel only in mozilla applications).

The reason for this issue is, the PrintPDE.plugin contains only an English.lproj. If you want to internationalize this, you must create a lproj in other languages (e.g. German.lproj). Therefor you need to translate the Localizable.strings and the PrintPDE.nib. The nib can be localized with Apples Interface Builder, the Localizable.strings with Xcode or every Text editor.
The localization of the PrintPDE.plugin is handled in Bug 268309.

I'm not a programmer, just a little advanced user, so I hope that the ln10 team will work on this issue with the right tools...

This happen on mozilla softwears but not on Apple's (Like Preview). Still Happen with Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X 10.4; fr; rv:1.9.2.6) Gecko/20100625 Firefox/3.6.6 even if bug 268309 is RESOLVED FIXED : is that fixed on the nightly builds ?

I'm not sure if it matters, but I can see localized strings in Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; rv:2.0b7pre) Gecko/20100920 Firefox/4.0b7pre, while I have English strings too with Firefox 3.6.10

This is a real bug (on the branches), but it no longer exists on the
trunk (in today's Minefield-fr nightly, testing on OS X 10.5.8).

The print dialog is provided by the OS.  So you might expect its
language to change with whatever language is chosen in the
International pref panel to be the "first" one (and not with the
language of the FF distro).

But on the branches even this doesn't happen:  I tried setting my
first language to French (then logging out and back in again).  But
doing this doesn't change the language of most of the print dialog --
most of it is still in English, using either the fr or the en-US
Firefox distro (of FF 3.6.10).

We've used it for years :-) And so do other Mac programs (TextWrangler
is one example).  Safari uses a different one, though.
