When a download finishes in firefox3, I get a notification at the bottom right of the screen.
when I open the download manager from within that "download_is_finished" notification, the download manager opens only for fraction of a second and then closes.
I'm not sure what causes this or if it is caused by some setting. but it also happens on new profiles.
This might be a linux only issue.
