User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; pl-PL; rv:1.9b3) Gecko/2008020513 Firefox/3.0b3 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; pl-PL; rv:1.9b3) Gecko/2008020513 Firefox/3.0b3 it's hard to explain, so i'll try to explain the problem in steps below: Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: when you type something into the address bar, obviously history shows up. if you highlight one of these entries with mouse, DO NOT CLICK it, and press return - firefox goes to the highlighted url from history, completely disregarding what you typed into the address bar. also sometimes when the history opens and one of the entries appears under the mouse cursor - it becomes highlighted instantly. you don't need to move your mouse at all. it happens 75% of the time for me on two different pcs, one running 3.0b3 on windows xp, and the other on linux. so basically when you want to go to e.g. google.com there is a 75% - 100% chance you'll end up in some search results page, instead of the expected plain search page, because one of the history entries happened to appear under your mouse cursor and got magically highlighted. Actual Results: firefox very often picks the history entry under the mouse cursor, even if i don't use the mouse at all and enters it into the address bar after pressing return. Expected Results: when i press enter firefox goes to the exact address i typed, not the one pointed by the mouse cursor, that was perfectly still for 10 minutes and just happened to be hovering over it in the history results (i didn't even have to click it). workaround : move mouse cursor away from the url history list. it's VERY annoying, you have to move mouse cursor outside of history results list to make sure history results don't get in your way. i thought it was hardware problem, but it seems pretty common. i reproduced it with beta3 under windows xp and linux. i used precompiled packages, didn't build from source. it happens randomly from 50% to 100% of the time.
This could be a dupe of Bug 408723.
yes, it is a duplicate. i had trouble searching for it. i'll mark mine as invalid then.
