User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.12) Gecko/20080129 Iceweasel/2.0.0.12 (Debian-2.0.0.12-0etch1) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.12) Gecko/20080129 Iceweasel/2.0.0.12 (Debian-2.0.0.12-0etch1) Bizarre this one, sure it is probably easy to fix. I ran automatic updates yesterday (am running Debian etch) but I'm afraid I didn't notice whether iceweasel was updated - anyway since then any search I run from the search bar prepends "Just Added" to the search phrase (regardless of search provider selected). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Type something in iceweasel search bar 2. Hit carriage return 3. Observe phrase in search engine query text field Actual Results: Search engine is sent query with Just+Added+ prepending your search string Expected Results: Searcvh engine is sent search string as typed in search bar

Unclosed comment in source code?
Can you reproduce the problem with a mozilla.org release? We don't generally deal with problems in IceWeasel builds. Seems likely to be either a problem with the IceWeasel patches, or your system/setup specifically. That being said, I didn't see anything in a quick look of http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/pool/main/i/iceweasel/iceweasel_2.0.0.12-0etch1.diff.gz that would cause this kind of problem.
(In reply to comment #2) > Can you reproduce the problem with a mozilla.org release? I'm not sure how to get the mozilla.org release... if I apt-get install firefox or compile from firefox source code then I just get iceweasel again (I seem to remember)? Am a bit confused on the firefox/iceweasel situation, is it not exactly the same source code? Is there a portal for iceweasel bugs? A google search for iceweasel brings very few results and none of them seem to be the developers except maybe geticeweasel.org, which is a two page site. > That being said, I didn't see anything in a quick look of > http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/pool/main/i/iceweasel/iceweasel_2.0.0.12-0etch1.diff.gz > that would cause this kind of problem. Don't you hate bugs you can't reproduce? I have clients report bugs in ie which don't seem to happen in m vmware setup :)
IceWeasel is Firefox plus a bunch of other changes to remove the branding and do all sorts of crazy stuff at the maintainers' discretion. You can get official mozilla.org binaries from getfirefox.com . You should probably file this bug in the Debian bug tracking system, at http://www.debian.org/Bugs/ . From what I can tell from a brief look at that site, their bug tracking system is insane. Good luck!

I'll mark it invalid, but please do feel free to reopen in the unlikely event that this ends up having been caused by a problem with Mozilla code.
