Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; sv-SE; rv:1.9b5pre) Gecko/2008030900 Minefield/3.0b5pre

The open state for "By Date and Site" containers in the history sidebar are not persisted from day to day. If I for example have "Yesterday" and a particular site expanded in the sidebar, that container is collapsed the following day and instead the "2 days ago" container is expanded.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Browse to some sites.
2. Open the History sidebar and open "Today" and expand one site container.
3. Wait until the next day.

Results:
The "Today" container is collapsed, and the "Yesterday" container is expanded.

Expected results:
The "Today" container is expanded, like it was the previous day,

This is a regression. The 2008-02-26-11 build always kept the date and site container open. 2008-02-27-04 do not.

This will not block the final release of Firefox 3.

the url used to persist open state contains hardcoded timestamps, so that's why it is moving to yesterday, on the day after.

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h".

In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows:
Tools | Message Filters
Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New"
Conditions: Body contains places-to-b-and-h
Change the action to "Delete Message".
Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top.
Click OK.

Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter.
