42285 - colors messed up in small gif image

well im using : Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; m16) Gecko/20000608 .. i
just dowbloaded it.. its the one with talk back, no installer.exe well, seems
that there is this little kinda rainbow in the image at the left of a story
title in slashdot (to round the corner...) Its pretty weird, i have a screenshot
clip of it zomed so it can be more visible (http://chaos-
productions.com/mozilla_bug.jpg), . I marked this as major because its an
unacceptable bug for "preview releases", in my opinion anyways.

I cannot see that with 06/12 build in Win95. It may be a resolved issue. 
Reporter, please have a look at /. with a newer build if you still see that.

Interesting bug, I see this on Win95 Moz build 2000061308

Incase it helps the imagelib people my colors are set to High Color 16 bit
Screen res is 1024x768 desktop res is 1600x1200

Here is a test case that is a little smaller

In my test case there are 2 versions.  The first with the error just before the 
text.  2nd case i took out the image 
http://images.slashdot.org/slc.gif out and it works fine.  However if you look 
at that image on it's own it looks fine.

Thus it makes me wonder if it is really an imagelib bug or someone elses bug.

does not occure in ns4x.
