Attached file (I will attach it in another post, I don't see an attach option in this bug creation form) renders and scrolls very slowly (on Ubuntu Linux 7.10).
Switching tabs to the file takes ~2.5 seconds, as does bringing Firefox to the front after it was partially covered by another window.
Scrolling by slowly dragging the scrollbar slider can freeze the PC for 10 seconds. However, if I scroll very slowly, I can drag the slider all the way from end to end without freezing (taking more than 5 seconds for the whole length).
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. View the attached file in a new tab
2. Switch tabs
3. Drag the scroll slider
Expected Results:
I would have hoped that scrolling and rendering would have been as fast as FF2.
This is a default install of FF - I removed ~/.mozilla before starting the test.
I'm not using compiz/fusion on my desktop. For hardware details, see the attached file.
I originally added this problem to the end of bug 413280, but it now seems this is a different issue.

Confirmed with latest trunk on Windows XP.
This regressed around the time that the fix of Bug 368247 was checked in. Probably it is a dupe of one of the other bugs that have scroll performance troubles on a page with dotted borders.

Ah! You are probably right! Although I can't see any dotted effect on the screen, the CSS at the top of the file says dotted. If I remove the dotted clause from the CSS then the file scrolls and renders lightning fast.

I am changing this to FIXED. I just tried beta 5 and it's blindingly fast. Well done.

Oops. Sorry to mess you around - I hadn't closed all instances of FF2 which is why it was fast. The problem still exists in FF3b5. Re-opening.

Looks like this is a dupe of 422330, which would have been hard to tell until I just fixed the summary and stuff on it.
