User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.2; en-US; rv:1.8.1.12) Gecko/20080201 Firefox/2.0.0.12 Build Identifier: version 2.0.0.12 (20080213) When looking at messages in a newsgroup and switching rapidly between messages that have not yet been downloaded, sometimes switching away from a message (which is being downloaded) results in corruption. That is, the message that was switched *away from* ends up having the same content as the message that was switched *to*. (In reality, the messages do not have the same content, which I verified by viewing the message in the web version of the newsgroup.) Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Use a slow (and erroneuos) network link (a wireless modem in my case) 2. Browse a newsgroup selected for offline use. By means of mouse select consecutive articles _fast_, ie. faster than they can be downloaded from the server. Actual Results: Some messages were displayed as duplicates of other messages. Expected Results: I expected to see either the correct message, or have Thunderbird redownload the message. Note that this is very similar to bug #283947, but I see (erroneously) a copy of the other message's body, and that bug reported seeing a copy of the other message's headers.
I've seen this before in 2.0.0.*, and probably on Trunk as well. Most likely URI is not being canceled, but it's a Core -> Networking: News problem anyhow.
