what is Mac firewall? Do you mean the built-in firewall on Mac OS X or is this something else?

Built-in OS X firewall.
Ambiguous article title?

The Mac firewall doesn't specifically block applications, it blocks services or activity on specific ports. What would be the significance of the article?

There was an article comment on the Firewalls article asking about Mac. So I guess this is an invalid bug? I'm not familiar with the Mac firewall, so I'm just going by what others say.

Actually, the firewall for Mac OS 10.5 (Leopard) has the capability to select access by application (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1810) but the firewall for Mac OS 10.4 (Tiger) does not.
