I happened to be using my school's webmail (https://webmail.msstate.edu/), and I noticed the language box was larger than usual. I tracked this down to the "Thai" language <option> in the <select>. Not sure when this regressed. What's strange is that I tried it on branch, and it's large there too, but it hasn't always been like this, so it is a regression... Konqueror on Linux looks correct and Minefield on Windows looks correct. See URL field for testcase.
Created attachment 311980 [details] Screenshot of issue This shows how the option box is larger than normal. Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9b5pre) Gecko/2008032504 Minefield/3.0b5pre ID:2008032504
If you can show this is a regression from 2.0, please re-nom.

See also bug 402239; for Indic scripts, Sam claims it happens on Windows, too.
Created attachment 340347 [details] Mac OS X 10.5 screen shot. it's a little bit larger than above drop down list on Mac OS X 10.5.5 Intel.
Created attachment 340348 [details] Ubuntu screen shot. It's still significantly bigger than above drop down list on Linux. Firefox 3.0.1 on Ubuntu 8.04.1.
Seems it is a related with a widget problem at bug 157541?
Created attachment 340350 [details] Screenshot on Ubuntu 8.10 On my Ubuntu 8.10a6, they look the same. Both are 30px height. Does it depend on font?
