Over in bug 409974 we are switching URLs to GreyText due to the potential range of Linux themes and background colors. This attachment shows the problem with the current hard coded color (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/attachment.cgi?id=294666) However, to increase contrast I think we should consider using the window color for the results instead of the menu color. This isn't completely native, but the two line view to begin with is already a little strange for the platform. I'm also concerned that using GreyText on a menu background is going to make the URLs look like disabled menu items.

I'm worried about consistency issues. Its a popup menu so shouldn't we make it look like such (if it isn't already)?
Hm, I can't even seem to find the color that matches the center are of windows on linux, Window usually maps to a shade of gray: http://iansgraham.com/books/xhtml1/appd/update-23feb2000.html
Here is the mist theme, pretty similar to other themes in the use of grey for menus. What system color is being used in the sidebar?
Ventnor: what do you think is right here? I don't think this blocks, really, but renom if you disagree. I also happen to think we should make this look consistent with other drop-down menus, not windows.

Yeah, now that I realize that linux uses the menu color for all drop down menus, comment #0 doesn't make any sense. Let's try to get this as native as possible.
