Since safari is available on windows, Firefox does not import automatically from it. Should we have a separate article on that or just include it in the Importing from safari article.

Reproducible: Always
This should be in the Import from Safari article, using SHOWFOR to show different content depending on the OS.

Josh, if you want to work on that, we can use this bug to track it (mark it as FIXED when you're done). Otherwise we should just mark this as INVALID. Thanks!
ok I will get started on it.
Great to hear! Comment here or in #sumo if you need any help. Thanks!

Let's not use SHOWFOR for this, until bug 413192. Having a Linux option is misleading.
Just to make it clearer (if for no one else than for me), we'll still merge it with http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Importing+from+Safari, but we will use subheadings for Windows and Mac instead of SHOWFOR until we have a way to hide Linux from the selector.
Can you, or someone, disapprove the current edit for Importing from Safari and then I will combine the articles. Makes it a lot simpler.
okay, done
done. open to suggestions.
Adding bug 388053 as a dependency. It isn't necessarily blocking this bug, but we'll get a reminder to update this page, when that bug is fixed.

Wouldn't it be worth saying that the import isn't available on Windows for the moment? That will help users to find the necessary information without having the need to search in Bugzilla.
Henrik, yes, I agree. We should preface the Windows section with that. I don't know if you've seen the current draft of the Windows import, but it basically walks through importing bookmarks only (via Safari export-->Firefox import).

I don't know what you mean by the need to search in Bugzilla.
I'm still not able to login because something happens with my password. I'm waiting for the reactivation. So I haven't seen the Windows page.

If it only talks about the bookmark export then it's fine. So the users will not be confused. But it would still be nice to mention it and perhaps link to the bug report.
I am afraid I don't understand why would we would need to link to the bug report. Please explain.
It was only a proposal. I don't know how it is normally handled on SUMO if a feature isn't implemented yet. But if users are interested in they have a direct link to see whats the current state. Nothing more...
That's true. Hopefully it will be approved, soon.

I've a approved it, with a few of my own edits:
- renamed heading to "Importing From Safari on Windows"
- "Export Bookmarks" has a trailing "..."
- added padding around the screenshots
- redid the screenshots, because the originals were blurry, and were not in the default Windows XP theme
- instructed users to save in My Documents. It's not a necessity, but it's easier for novice users to understand.
- you also gave instructions in the Bookmarks Manager in Firefox2, but gave a screenshot for Firefox 3. I've fixed that.
Status: RESOLVED → VERIFIED
And any further discussion should take place on the staging copy.
