Would it be possible/legal to ship a tarball with GTK 2.10 and a modified "firefox" launch script?

According to this EeePC user forum post:

You just need to extract GTK 2.10 somewhere and modify the "firefox" script to export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=<path to extracted gtk 2.10>

Couldn't we just ship a special tarball for EeePC users that has GTK2.10 extracted with the updated "firefox" script?

I'm not sure yet, but sounds like existing EeePC 700 and the new EeePC 900 will be shipping with Firefox 2(.0.0.7?)

FWIW: 2.0.0.11 is what was installed on the eeePC 8G that I got delivered today. (There was an update available for it, but after installing it, it remained 2.0.0.11).
