The Friulian localization of Fx 3.0 is almost complete, and the localizers would like to be able to localize SUMO as well. But since the Friulian localization is only available as a language pack, and not as an official build, no place for it has been set up in SUMO.

merged into production branch in r14699 and into 1.1 branch in r14915
The langmapping.php file says "translators, please, update this file with your language name in your own language". For Friulian this would be "Furlan". Can this be changed by the translation team later, or should the file be modified now?
It should be done now - at the point of creation. I can do it.
"Furlan" in r16528 in trunk and r16529 in production branches. Once pushed - bug should be fixed.

Looks like it's set up in production:

http://support.mozilla.com/fur/kb/Add-ons+are+incompatible+with+Firefox+3

yields, "This article has not yet been translated to Furlan (fur). Perhaps you could help us with that? Just click translate this page and follow the instructions." -- translated content coming later.

Upstreamed all new languages by comparing the list. Most language files seem empty. Perhaps the translated strings are in the database?

Yes, they're mostly in the database, due to use of the interface translator.
It would be good to get an export to the file format to distribute. I understand the wording may be a little different in the context of sumo, but better than nothing.
