User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.6) Gecko/20071008 Ubuntu/7.10 (gutsy) Firefox/2.0.0.6 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.6) Gecko/20071008 Ubuntu/7.10 (gutsy) Firefox/2.0.0.14 Clearly, the above web page attempts to install some malware on any user visiting that web site. The problem is that Firefox enters a Javascript loop and the user cannot get out of it. Firstly, the web site asks: (step 1) "Click OK to install and download media codec !" I choose "Cancel" then the new dialog says: (step 2) "Please download a new version of media codec software !" The only option left here is "Ok". When the use presses OK he is sent back to step 1. There is no way to get out of this loop and the JavaScript windows doesn't allow the user to reach the close button in Firefox. As a result of this, the browser must be killed in Linux from the command line or from the task bar in Windows. I visited this web site with the latest FF (2.0.0.14) from both Linux and Windows and they both have the same behavior. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Visit http://videopluginax.com/47jxf/movie.htm 2. When prompted with "Click OK to install and download media codec !" click "Cancel" 3. When prompted with ""Please download a new version of media codec software !" click "OK" Actual Results: The user is unable to get out of a JavaScript loop and is unable to properly close the browser either. Expected Results: The user should be able to get out of the loop, or at least he should be allowed to close the site or (the last resort) he should be allowed to properly close the browser.
