When a user has more than about 7 tags, a scrollbar appears. There can be a large amount of whitespace to the right of the tag list. It would be better to use this space to display additional tags rather than force users to scroll the list. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open the Library and select a bookmark. 2.Click the expand control next to the tags line. 3.If the user has too many tags to fit in the box a scrollbar appears. Expected Results: The tags should appear in multiple columns and a scrollbar should appear only if there is still an overflow.
tag autocomplete could mitigate the problem with many tags(bug 415960) but certainly actual UI is not the best one in such a case

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h". In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows: Tools | Message Filters Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New" Conditions: Body contains places-to-b-and-h Change the action to "Delete Message". Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top. Click OK. Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter. Gerv

Thanks for pointing this out! I agree that the current interface of "adding tags" did not handle large amount of tags very well. From the UX perspective, adding bookmarks & tags should provide with a more straightforward flow and intuitive UI. It's more than just changing the UI controls on the interface. But currently, this is not on our priority list. But we've definitely realized the problems and will keep our thoughts on redesigning it.
