Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; zh-TW; rv:1.9b5) Gecko/2008032620 Firefox/3.0b5
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X 10.5; zh-TW; rv:1.9b5) Gecko/2008032619 Firefox/3.0b5

The date of download in Download Manager is shown incorrectly in zh-TW version of Fx3b5, posibily in all l18n version Fx. While the date format is correctly localized, name of the month is always shown in English.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. download a file using a l10n-ed Firefox
2. wait for a few days so the date will come up instead of time, "Yesterday" or day of week.
3. open Download Manager
4. read the date of original file downloaded.
Actual Results:
The date are incorrectly shown as "May 4 日".

Expected Results:
The word "May" should be in Chinese (Taiwan), i.e. "五月".

Date format string for zh-TW is here: http://mxr.mozilla.org/l10n/source/zh-TW/toolkit/chrome/mozapps/downloads/downloads.properties at line 91. This problem occours on Mac only; on Windows it reads "五月 4 日" prefectly.

I don't think the problem is locale-dependent.

The Mac OS X itself is set on zh-TW locale; Finder displays its menus in Chinese (Taiwan).

Actually not a duplicate - bug 368838 is about number formats which are very different. I created bug 476419 on date formatting issues.
