Basically a copy of http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Screen+resolution+changes+when+starting+Firefox but focusing on "Run in 256 colors"

Probably also link other color change articles that may need to be written: color settings, bad userChrome/Content, new theme, graphics card issues.

I know copying articles is not ideal but these are two different symptoms and per bug 432631, mentioning colors may be a good way of making it more findable.
Should we not just have the one article cover both, and use the redirect module to create both titles?
Are graphics card issues known to cause this?
Does the redirect module work? Will they see the "Screen colors change when starting Firefox" title in the list of articles they get back from search? Also, there should be userChrome/userContent/Theme fixes.

Chris, I don't know. But I know graphics cards cause some color rendering issues sometimes in Firefox only (I think) and someone may be hard pressed to know the difference between bad colors in Firefox and bad colors systemwide.
If graphics cards are known to cause this as well, then it should be a separate article. We should find an actual case of this happening.
Put a comment in the article source, about shortcut properties instructions also being used in "Screen resolutions changes...", so if anyone updates this article, they will know to update the other one well.

Could you explain what the user css and theme fixes are?

And yes, the redirect module works. :-) I don't know if it shows up in search results. I assume it does, otherwise there's no point.
I'm actually not saying this issue specifically but weird color issues with (say) bold text in web browsers may be considered to be a Firefox issue even when it's not. As for theme and CSS issues, people can get weird colors for example if they override the default colors for web pages or have a bad theme that doesn't make everything quite readable. The article would be less about color depth and more about color issues but I contend that color depth is a term most people don't know as much as "my browser colors look wrong"
Cheng, is this issue that is covered in <https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Website+colors+are+wrong>?
Covered.
