Listing obtained from http://www.un.org/Depts/dhl/un_conf.htm . I didn't categorize the holidays as public holidays (but as "holidays") since that gives the connotation of days off of work. I didn't add descriptions since I didn't find any good short summaries online, but I did add a link to the official U.N. sites which describe the observances.

Though not strictly a holiday-file, I think we could put this online on mozilla.org.

We are only using the mozilla.org website as a resource for the classic country holidays. We will therefore not this file there. Sorry.

That is a very big disappointment. Though nothing compared to the disappointment of the people of the world who find their will rejected by a few powers, vote after vote, year after year (that's a reference to the Security Council, btw, not Mozilla!).
