1) "For consistency" does not apply in SeaMonkey, as we don't use "write" anywhere currently.
2) I'm not sure if we want this, CCing our mailnews owner Mnyromyr for this reason.

I always found "composing" mails (especially HTML mails) with the mail <editor> while having a(nother HTML) composer an extremely confusing naming.

In this regard I'd lean towards eliminating the usage of "compose" for mail.
OTOH, I don't think that "Write:" instead of "Compose:" is any better, so there's no need to copy that exactly...

Looks like we'd go for "New Message" but you'd have to change the label ("New Msg") on the mail window button too.
