Currently the "Downloads" window has an entry with the functional label "Search..." This "label" is problematic for two reasons: 1. The text (very, very light grey) is extremely poor contrast with the white background making it difficult for users with low vision to read it. 2. The "label" vanishes upon focus. When providing access to the contents of the screen to individuals using refreshable braille, it would be nice to have a label to display. :-) Adding a label would also be consistent with what is done on the Find toolbar and with dialog boxes with text fields in general. And, finally, it seems that there's plenty of room to add a label (see bug #426904). ;-) In all seriousness, it would be great if something could be done on this front. Thanks in advance!
eh, we use the new search widget which supplies a label for the a11y api's...
I'm seeing the object has a name, and we could grab that for braille. But it doesn't solve the problem for low vision users who aren't using speech or braille output.
Shawn, should this bug be modified to handle the color combination of the text that is provided by default? I need sighted assistance here since I'm the last person who can comment on color combinations unfortunately. :-)
It looks to me like it's the same color as the search bar in the browser's main window too. This should really be brought up with the browser module owner.
